The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic has forced institutions of higher education to rapidly shift their instructional methods to adapt to this evolving situation. The over two trillion dollar CARES Act stimulus package is in part designed to grant regulatory flexibility and monetary relief to schools as they adopt distance education practices to comply with social distancing directives. Furthermore, the CARES act provides students with loan and work study relief in order to allow students to maintain some semblance of financial stability during these tumultuous times. We have summarized the higher education provisions of the CARES Act to clarify the provisions of the act and how they will affect our clients. Our summary is available below.
