A total of 263 job seekers attended the event, with 254 of those being Northwestern College students and alumni. The other 9 attendees were members of the public who were seeking jobs.

Dressed in business suits, dresses, jackets and ties, as well as clean and pressed medical scrubs, the soon-to-be-graduates presented their resumes and discussed career opportunities with employers representing numerous businesses and organizations. Northwestern College hosts this career fair yearly on behalf of its students and also opens it up to the community. The College’s administration and staff hold strong to the belief that it is imperative to do everything possible to assist its students in obtaining employment.

“Getting a good education is only step one to building a strong foundation for a successful career,” commented Lawrence Schumacher, President of Northwestern College. “Getting that first job after graduation is the second step. We are excited to have been able to provide access to so many prominent Chicagoland businesses, hospitals, medical facilities and government entities for our students at this year’s career fair. We are hopeful that these connections will lead to full-time employment opportunities, opening up new doors to the future for our Northwestern College graduates!”

The success of the career fair would not have been possible without the efforts of Northwestern College’s Career Development & Alumni Relations Coordinators Greg Norton of its Chicago-Jefferson Park Campus and Amy Buoscio of its Bridgeview Campus. In addition, thanks also goes to the Northwestern College staff and program coordinators and directors that brought in additional employers to participate. Finally, the event would not be possible without the assistance of the staff from the Office of Career Development & Alumni Relations.
