Educators to Explore the Impact of Data Intelligence on Proactive Student Outreach

One year after Ambassador and the College of Health Care Professions debuted their predictive model to forecast student challenges and success at the CECU Annual Convention, they have been invited back to give this year’s attendees a glimpse into how the model has succeeded and evolved. The breakout session will explore how they collect and analyze specific, measurable student behaviors to understand student study habits and course progress, as well as predict student support so that the CHCP team can be more proactive.

“Most colleges and universities have a wealth of information at their fingertips, but it can be a daunting task to collect, analyze and apply the most meaningful and actionable data points,” said Steven M. Blicht, COO of Ambassador. “CHCP has done a remarkable job getting out in front of its data, not only realizing its relevance, but also using it to inform and influence student outreach and support. We look forward to helping more schools understand how data can be used to assess student progress, and also to predict where students might need help in the future.”

CHCP, together with its digital content partner, Ambassador Education Solutions, will talk about the benefits of leveraging digital course materials, including the ability to provide students with automatic access to resources and the power to use data to predict student challenges and success, both of which can contribute to improvements in retention and outcomes. Specifically, they will explore the kinds of data points available and which are the most relevant to measure based on student engagement. They will talk about key indicators for tracking individual student behaviors and how that supports a predictive model that monitors and positively impacts student success and retention. Attendees will also learn about the pitfalls of data management, which negative practices they should avoid, and how to maximize data insights to drive the best results and highest success rates.

From Predictive to Proactive: How One Institution is Applying Data to Raise the Bar on Student Support” will be led by Dr. S. David Vaillancourt, Chief Academic Officer at The College of Health Care Professions, and Bruce Schneider, Vice President of Business Engineering at Ambassador. The session takes place on the first day of the CECU Annual Convention, Tuesday, June 6th at 2:30 p.m. in the Campus Development Track. The Convention is being held at The Mirage in Las Vegas.

Attendees are invited to stop by Ambassador’s booth (#409) to learn more about automating and customizing the course materials acquisition process. They can also register to win the ultimate in home automation and customization with a Google Home and Nest package. For more information, please visit AmbassadorEd.com/CECU2017.
