Dr. Jordan Utley and Marnie Doctor Bring Decades of Experience to their Respective Roles

Tucson, Ariz. (January 13, 2023) – Pima Medical Institute has announced Dr. Jordan Utley, PhD, LAT, ATC, FNAP has been named Corporate Education Director and Marnie Doctor, MPH has been named Director of Regulatory Operations.

Dr. Utley brings more than two decades of higher education administrative experience to her role as Corporate Education Director. Her previous roles in administration include Program Director, Department Chair, Dean of Health Science and Director of Teaching and Learning. Clinically, she has nearly three decades of experience as a certified athletic trainer (ATC), working with athletes from high school all the way to professional sports.

Dr. Utley joins Pima Medical at an exciting time, as the highly respected medical career college celebrates 50 years of success and looks ahead to the future. An internationally recognized academic scholar, Dr. Utley is fueled by analytics and is driven to remove barriers and bridge the access gap in higher education.

Dr. Utley earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, Psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, Master of Science in Exercise Science from Northeastern Illinois University and Doctor of Philosophy in Experimental Psychology from DePaul University.

Marnie Doctor has been with Pima Medical Institute for more than 12 years and began her career at the college as a Physical Therapist Assistant instructor. She went on to earn roles as Clinical Director, Program Director, and prior to her current role, spent more than five years as Regulatory Operations Manager. Ms. Doctor has played instrumental roles in the work required to pivot thousands of students to fully remote learning, nearly overnight, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has played vital roles in the development of Pima Medical’s hybrid education program and the accreditation and reaccreditation processes at each of our campuses. Ms. Doctor not only brings with her an understanding of clinical and administrative operations, she also has a deep knowledge of Pima Medical, its mission, value and goals.

“I began at Pima Medical as a student, and am thrilled to bring the knowledge I’ve gained over the years to this new role,” said Doctor. “I returned to school later in life and was grateful to find a program that could help place me on a different path. Technical and career education is vital to each of our communities and the need for qualified professionals is at an all-time high. Pima Medical has established itself as a provider of quality education, and I intend to do everything I can to continue that tradition for many years to come.”

After earning her Physical Therapist Assistant associate degree from Pima Medical’s Denver campus, she went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Public Health from Grand Canyon University.

Dr. Utley and Ms. Doctor oversee talented teams of professionals, all focused on the success of our students, faculty and staff.
