If you are following the journey of Louisville baker Jackie Joseph on The Food Network’s “Best Baker in America,” you know she has thrown her apron into the ring with every intention of rising to the top.

On Monday, she’ll enter round three of the eight-episode baking competition. The winner of the show will receive bragging rights as the “Best Baker in America,” along with $25,000, something that will come in handy for Joseph if she wins since she’s working on opening her own Louisville bakery.

The Sullivan University graduate and former pastry chef for The Brown Hotel and Omni Louisville Hotel has received accolades from the Food Network judges as well as her hometown fans.

“With the love I’ve received, it’s only solidified my decision to take a leap of faith and pursue my dream. It’s no longer just an idea, but a reality,” Joseph told The Courier Journal. “Starting my own business is in the very early stages, but with the encouragement of so many locals, I have a burning motivation to dive in and get things rolling as soon as I can.”
