HAMPTON ROADS, Va. – New technology is allowing students to get better practice dealing with emergencies and treating patients.

Chrystal Greathouse went back to school in August for nursing at ECPI University.

She has used a new software technology called eHospital.

School officials say it simulates six virtual environments like triage, the emergency room, an operating room and a medical laboratory.

The students practice treating and saving patients, and they can even do it in a ambulance or helicopter.

“It allows you to be able to interact without interacting,” said Greathouse. “It allows you to be able to take a blood pressure and listen to the beat, but you’re not touching someone.”
