Carrington College Announces Appointment of New Institutional President

Sacramento, Calif. (Jan. 2, 2020)Carrington College is proud to announce that Vice President of Operations, Mitch Charles, has been selected by the Board of Governors to be the new president of Carrington College.

Mitch has served in a wide variety of roles at Carrington College over the last 12 years including campus director, director of admissions and vice president of student services. He has worked in leadership for nearly every aspect of the college, and brings an impressive amount of experience to the position.

“Mitch has always believed in a personal responsibility to the students we serve,” said President and CEO of San Joaquin Valley College, Inc., Michael Perry. “His vision for improving student outcomes, strengthening community partnerships, and building exceptional services within the student lifecycle, reflect the same institutional mission and strategic direction we all envision for the future of Carrington College,” added Perry.

As president of Carrington College, Mitch will continue the tradition of excellence in student services both in and out of the classroom. He will focus on a larger operational perspective while still concentrating on the needs of Carrington College students, faculty and staff.

“Mitch has consistently provided positive outcomes by sticking to the core values of what makes a college exceptional,” added Perry. “He has a proven track record and because of this I am honored to welcome him to the position of president at Carrington College.”

Mitch holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management.
