LENEXA, Kan. (December 2, 2019) – Thruline Marketing announced the sale of multiple lines of business from its portfolio of education marketing and lead generation services to EducationDynamics.

Thruline has sold assets relating to its industry-leading agency services business, which provides marketing and recruitment support to grow student enrollment to more than 20 higher education institutions, and its best-in-class call center lead generation business, which qualifies and connects thousands of prospective students per day to Thruline’s network of post-secondary schools.

Following the sale of these businesses, Thruline remains committed to connecting high-intent education seekers to degree and training opportunities through its retained lines of business:

  • Student search websites focused on high-growth career fields: Thruline engages with over 25 million visitors per year between its company-owned websites and proprietary network of partner sites to help people research education options in fields such as cosmetology, teaching, criminal justice, and trucking; and
  • Innovative employer-sponsored career training: Building disruptive models that help people access training programs partially or fully underwritten by employers, particularly in the healthcare, cosmetology, and wellness sectors.

Thruline’s retained businesses share fundamental traits of high growth potential and scalability. “By streamlining the company and narrowing our strategic focus, we believe Thruline will be able to move quickly and creatively to capitalize on exciting opportunities,” said Chief Executive Officer Mike McHugh.

In particular, Thruline has been investing in its employer-sponsored career training business to address a critical inefficiency in the US labor market: a severe and growing shortage of trained, certified professionals in vocational-type careers across a multitude of employment categories.

These investments include the February 2019 acquisition of Premier Nursing Academy (www.premiernursingacademy.org), a company providing no-cost training and upfront employer sponsorship to students entering the healthcare field. Additionally, in the massage and cosmetology industries, Thruline works directly with national employers to create and promote employer-sponsored education programs where students interview with employers before entering school and receive up to 75% of relevant tuition cost reimbursed by their future employer.

“While we endorse the value of a traditional college degree, we also see the need for a more student- and employer-friendly model that emphasizes focused, fast, affordable training with low to no risk for students,” said McHugh. “Employers are asking for better ways to find and train high-quality employees, and consumers are seeking alternatives to the traditional post-secondary education track to receive targeted, high-quality training for in-demand careers.”
