Summary: This letter announces the availability of Federal Student Aid’s online training module that provides an overview of Next Gen FSA’s enhanced StudentAid.gov.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce a new online training opportunity for schools and other financial aid professionals to explore Next Gen FSA’s enhanced StudentAid.gov, part of the website consolidation described in a December 13, 2019 Electronic Announcement. The enhanced version of StudentAid.gov, available on December 22, 2019, consolidates multiple websites into one front-end platform for students, parents, and borrowers and is the first step to an improved customer experience.

We heard you when you said the different websites, IDs, and passwords were confusing for your students and families. To address these common pain points, the current functionality of StudentAid.gov, StudentLoans.gov, FSAID.ed.gov, and some components of (NSLDS®) Student Access (NSLDS.ed.gov) will be consolidated under one umbrella website which will be an enhanced version of StudentAid.gov.

To introduce our professional partners to the functionality of the new platform, we are developing a series of online training opportunities. The first in the series, Next Gen First Time Login to StudentAid.gov, is now available for you to view.

To access the training, log in to Federal Student Aid E-Training with your username and password, or you may choose to log in as a guest. After logging in, select “Webinars and Recordings” from the main menu bar. From the drop-down menu that appears, choose “Next Gen” and then select the title of the video to launch the training.

Note: You must use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari as your browser to access Federal Student Aid E-Training.

In January, we will have an additional training opportunity, Navigating Next Gen StudentAid.gov, available for you to view. Monitor the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) website for forthcoming announcements about additional Next Gen FSA training opportunities.

Thank you for your continued interest in and support of our training efforts.

Sincerely,

Federal Student Aid
