Program designed to accommodate healthcare needs in the community and provide students more flexible scheduling options

EAGAN, Minn.–Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its Practical Nursing Diploma program (PN) at the Eagan, Minnesota, campus, will now offer expanded class times on evenings and weekends starting in October.1 PN students will be able to choose to take evening and weekend courses or daytime weekday courses to enjoy greater flexibility as they prepare to meet the growing healthcare needs in the community.

“We are excited to offer evening and weekend class times in addition to our daytime classes for our Practical Nursing program at our Eagan campus. This will allow our students in the greater Twin Cities metro area the ability to select the hours that best meet their personal situation,” said Dr. Angela Christian, DNP, RNC, Rasmussen College Eagan campus Dean of Nursing. “We are proud to provide these expanded scheduling times to allow our students more flexibility in pursuing rewarding careers in the increasingly complex and demanding nursing field.”

High Demand for LPNs in the Twin Cities

According to labor analytics firm Burning Glass, more than 2,953 job postings appeared in the last 12 months for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in the Twin Cities metro area alone. Like many communities nationwide, the Twin Cities are in need of highly skilled LPNs, with demand projected to grow by more than 10 percent by 2028.

In addition to preparing graduates to confidently sit for the NCLEX-PN® exam, the Rasmussen College PN Diploma program provides students with hands-on training in a supportive campus environment led by experienced nurse faculty. The program has four start dates per year, no pre-nursing course requirements or wait list, so qualified students can work toward a career as an LPN and help fill the growing needs of the community by completing the program in as few as 12 months.2

To offer even more flexibility and cost savings, the Rasmussen College PN program is available with Flex Choice® self-directed assessments, which allow students to blend traditional online courses with self-directed assessments that provide optional coaching assistance.
