Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 11, 2019 – Clary Sage College partnered with Tulsa Dream Center on Friday, June 7th at the 7th Annual Girls’ Teen Summit. Esthetician students from Clary Sage and Fashion Design instructor Michelle LaFortune Wamego held workshops for those attending the summit. Workshop attendees learned about healthy skin care practices for teens and were given mini-facials. Wamego talked to students about her experience in the fashion industry and helped students make their own inspiration boards and mini outfits using templates.
“It was such an amazing opportunity to work with these girls and help them express their creativity through our workshops last week. The young ladies were friendly and energetic. They jumped into activities of building concept design boards and several got very creative with combining fabric with silhouettes designing their own textile enriched 2-D designs,” said Wamego.
The Girls’ Teen Summit is an event dedicated to educating and inspiring young women. The summit was a two-day workshop held on June 7th and 8th of this year. Attendees enjoyed a panel discussion where teenage girls were given an opportunity to listen to speakers on topics most relevant to young women today. The summit also featured local organizations and schools that hosted info sessions and workshops.
Clary Sage College works to be active in the community and help students gain professional experience. Clary Sage partners with the Coffee Bunker and other organizations to provide free hair cuts to Veterans. The college also hosts events such as Cuts for Kids, Scary Sage, and Clary Runway.
