Dr. Jim Hutton Elected to Board of Directors for Career Education Colleges and Universities (CECU)

Lansing, Mich. (June 20, 2019) – Career Quest Learning Centers (CQLC) CEO and Career Education Review Publisher Jim Hutton, Ph.D. has been elected to the board of directors for Career Education Colleges and Universities (CECU), a membership organization of accredited, postsecondary schools, institutes, colleges and universities that provide career-specific educational programs.

Jim HuttonHutton previously served on the board of CECU when it was known as Career College Association. “Serving in this role gives CQLC a direct voice in policy and governmental issues impacting millions of career college students and employees,” Hutton said. “It also gives CQLC a national presence and recognition as a top career educator in the country.”

Hutton is a well-known leader in career-focused higher education, having been a strategic level executive, board director (five for-profit and four not-for-profit boards), and co-owner for several outstanding career college groups. He served on CQLC’s board since 2009 and became its CEO in January 2018.

He also served as a commissioner for the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) for six years and as Chairman of ACICS’ board of directors in 2006. In addition to his roles with CQLC and CECU, Hutton is an active ACICS evaluator and Appeals Board panel member.

Hutton’s academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Faulkner University in Birmingham, and an MBA and Ph.D. in Administration-Health Services, both summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
