Accreditation demonstrates the College’s commitment to meeting nursing education standards

Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its Fort Myers and Tampa/Brandon, Florida, campuses have earned programmatic accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).1,2 Accreditation highlights the College’s commitment to meeting rigorous education standards for its Professional Nursing Associate’s degree program at its Fort Myers and Tampa/Brandon campuses. It also signifies the Nursing programs have met or exceeded standards and criteria for educational quality in Nursing curriculum and preparation for Nursing students to work successfully in the profession upon graduation.

“Rasmussen College is committed to delivering quality education across all of our Nursing programs,” said Dr. Kelly McCullough, Regional Dean of Nursing at Rasmussen College. “Earning accreditation through ACEN is a rigorous process that takes months to complete. Successfully fulfilling ACEN’s requirements and achieving accreditation reinforce that we are delivering on our responsibility to offer quality Nursing education for our Florida students.”

The Rasmussen College ACEN-Accredited Professional Nursing Program
The Rasmussen College Professional Nursing Associate’s degree program provides students with a hands-on Nursing education experience guided by experienced nurse faculty. The Nursing program expands students’ skill sets and confidence. With immersive, hands-on training in a variety of clinical settings, students will be fully prepared for the scenarios they’ll encounter in the workforce. Upon graduation, Nursing students are academically prepared to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam offering a path to a rewarding career as a registered nurse (RN).

To offer more flexibility and affordability, general education courses for the ADN program are offered with Flex Choice® — a learning option that allows students to combine traditional courses and optional self-directed assessments — a more affordable way for students to receive credit for what they already know. The program can be completed in as few as 18 months.3 Current licensed practical nurses (LPNs) looking to further their education can take advantage of the ADN Mobility Bridge Entrance Option, which helps LPNs earn their credential in a shorter amount of time in as few as 12–18 months.3

“Our Nursing courses are taught by experienced nurse faculty and feature small classroom sizes that enable faculty members to focus on each student and their unique needs,” said McCullough. “We have strong community partnerships that allow our students to have access to a variety of clinical opportunities throughout Florida. Our communities are looking for qualified, caring nurses as the population ages and local hospitals look to grow and expand their services. We are proud of our recent ACEN accreditation and are excited for our students and community members who will directly benefit from the exceptional Nursing programs we strive to provide every day.”

The Rasmussen College Professional Nursing Associate’s degree program at the New Port Richey/West Pasco and Ocala (with an off-campus instructional site in Orlando), Florida, campuses are also accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).2
