Tulsa, Oklahoma, February 22nd, 2019 – Celebrity barber, Jack Walker, has chosen Clary Sage College as the location for his next Pop-Up Barber & Stylist Battle. This will be the second time this competition has been held in Tulsa, OK. The competition will include barbers and stylists from all over Oklahoma. Clary students will also be able to participate. This is a one-day event located at Clary Sage College on Sunday, February 24th, 2019. The event will start at 3:00 pm and conclude at 7:00 pm.

If you or anyone you know wants to see some of the best barbers and stylists Oklahoma has to offer, then join us at the Pop-Up Barber & Stylist Battle! This event is open to the public and we welcome anyone to join us!” said Paula Matthews, Barber Department Head/Instructor at Clary Sage College.
Jack Walker has worked with many celebrities over the years. Some of Walker’s more influential clientele include professional basketball players such as Russell Westbrook, Anthony Morrow, Serge Ibaka, and DJ Augustin. Walker uses his skills and the Pop-Up Barber & Stylist Battle to help other barbers and stylists learn how to grow their careers. Contestants will participate in as many categories as they like. There are seven categories for barbers and stylists to enter: Best Fade (females only), Fade and Design (females only), Manbun and Fade (braider and barber), Fastest Fade, Best Student Fade, Fade and Design Comb Over, and Fade. There will be over $1000 in cash and prizes awarded to contestants. Contestants will pay a $20 entry fee for each category they wish to participate in. Those wishing to attend the event without participating will pay a $10 event admission fee.
The Clary Sage College Barber students study the art of the straight razor shave, beard design, chemical treatments, and men’s and women’s haircutting. Students have the opportunity to perfect these skills both in the classroom and in the on-campus barbershop. In the barbershop, students work with real clients from the community while growing their professional and soft skills.
