ABHES is pleased to announce that Ms. India Tips has been confirmed to serve as ABHES’ new Executive Director effective January 1, 2019.
India joined ABHES in 1995, and in her 23-year tenure, her experience spans the full spectrum of accreditation, membership services, and operations. She has been serving as the Interim Executive Director since July in addition to fulfilling many of her same responsibilities as the Assistant Executive Director, a position held since 2010. India developed the educational content and curricula for the required trainings for initial and renewal applicants where she has been the lead presenter for 15 years. She has taken part in and supported efforts for more than five petitions for re-recognition by the U.S. Department of Education. She has been instrumental in the management and successful execution of 16 conferences serving more than 400 attendees and exhibitors annually and has performed hundreds of accreditation visits to institutions seeking initial and renewal ABHES accreditation.
The ABHES Search Committee consisted of members of the Commission’s Executive Committee, which began by reviewing more than 70 candidate resumes. A short list was then screened and vetted where the Committee conducted interviews with each candidate, leveraging a set of pre-determined structured questions to ensure consistency. At the end, the Committee recommended, and the Commission voted unanimously to confirm India Tips to serve as the new Executive Director.
