Dr. James Brown to Present at the United States Distance Learning Association 2018 National Conference.

Between April 29th and May 2nd, a premier event for professionals in the distance learning industry will be held in the cosmopolitan city of Indianapolis. The United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) 2018 National Conference promises to give guests an action-packed agenda that will draw distance learning practitioners from across the country.

The goal of the event is to provide attendees with new knowledge about topics relating to distance education. Various points of view will be presented, and the moderate size of the event will encourage active participation. Numerous professionals will attend USDLA’s 2018 Conference, including provosts, deans, faculty (K-12/higher education), developers, system administrators, chief information officers, instructional technologists, and more!

Dr. James Brown is one such attendee. An adjunct instructor at Unitek College, Dr. Brown teaches online nursing courses at Unitek and tirelessly empowers his students. On May 1st, the third day of the 2018 Conference, Dr. Brown will present the following from 2:00-3:00 PM: “Placing Prerequisite Nursing Lab Science Courses Totally Online.” The presentation will primarily cover innovative and emerging methods for placing pre-nursing science courses entirely online.

During the presentation, Dr. Brown will delve into specific challenges inherent in the subjects of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and chemistry. Additionally, the advantages and disadvantages of hands-on versus virtual laboratories will be addressed. Dr. Brown will also explore the methodology behind this endeavor as well as best practices and possible accreditation issues. Without a doubt, Dr. Brown is “going the distance” at the USDLA 2018 National Conference.

“We are thrilled for Dr. Brown, and we’re excited to have Unitek represented at the 2018 Conference,” said Janis Paulson, Chief Executive Officer at Unitek College. “As a growing institution that transforms individuals into healthcare and IT professionals, we are intrigued by the possibility of further extending our reach and making location less of an obstacle.”
