The Colorado-owned Institute of Business and Medical Careers College will close its Colorado Springs campus Oct. 13, the school announced Wednesday night.

The decision will displace 45 employees and 120 students, said CEO Steve Steele.

“We are so disappointed,” he said in an email. “We love this community and have enjoyed being a part of it.”

An agreement IBMC reached with Pima Medical Institute in Colorado Springs, also a nationally accredited school, will enable current students to transfer.

Others “collegiate partners” in Colorado Springs include Everest College, CollegeAmerica and the International Salon and Spa Academy.

Representatives from the partner schools will be available on campus, 6805 Corporate Drive, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

“Although it is always difficult to leave a tight-knit family of fellow students, staff and faculty members, we are confident in the new homes our students are finding to continue their education,” Steele said.
