“Future proofing” career schools and their students is a pathway to success, said Seth Mattison, an expert on workforce trends who spoke at the 2018 Career Education Colleges and Universities Annual Convention & Expo in June. It’s not just teaching students how to do a certain job, but also ensuring they possess the evolving soft skills needed for today’s workplace.
The Central States Private Education Network Annual Conference brought experts and schools together to discuss some of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, including the state of accreditation, the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act and other educational reforms.
Speakers at the 2017 Career Education Colleges and Universities Annual Convention & Expo stressed the need for career colleges to be an advocate for the sector, as well as encouraged school officials to be proactive in the Higher Education Act reauthorization process.
