Several influential higher education groups have created a new website, ‘Remember the Dreamers’, that will provide information and resources for students and institutions on what efforts are being made to help Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, students.

Many of these students are also called ‘Dreamers’, after the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, which did not go through Congress. DACA students are barred from receiving emergency funding allocated to colleges and universities under the federal coronavirus stimulus program under the CARES Act. Many higher education leaders have criticized Congress for refusing aid to DACA students.

The groups involved in the creation of the website are the American Council on Education; the American Association of Community Colleges; the American Association of State Colleges and Universities; the Association of American Universities; the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities; the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities; the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities; the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators; the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities, the Association of Catholic Colleges And Universities; the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities; and the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration; FWD.us, a pro-immigration lobbying group; THEDREAM.US, a college access program for DACA students; and Georgetown University.
