CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Southeastern Institute Charlotte Campus President Kris Loretz is the newest member of the North Carolina State Board of Proprietary Schools. Loretz was nominated at an April 28, 2020, meeting of the General Assembly of North Carolina and was confirmed May 8, 2020.

The North Carolina State Board of Proprietary Schools assists the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges in issuing licenses to proprietary schools and formulating the criteria and the standards for the approval of proprietary schools. The Board is made up of seven members consisting of educational administrators and industry professionals.

“It’s an honor to be able to be a part of ensuring compliance with the State’s educational standards, while also delivering rewarding, and necessary career focused training in North Carolina,” said Loretz. “Our purpose is to assure prospective and enrolled students and citizens of North Carolina that proprietary schools operating in the state meet minimum standards of quality in their operation.”

Loretz has been a member of the Southeastern Institute family since 2011. Under his guidance, the Charlotte campus of Southeastern Institute has seen growth in its enrollment while maintaining perfect accreditation renewals from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and other voluntary accreditors. Loretz was named to the Board to fill the General Assembly, Speaker of the House position that was recently left vacant. His term on the Board runs through December 31, 2023.

“Education is your path to follow,” added Loretz. “Embrace change, overcome challenges, enjoy new experiences, and do not let your education end.”
