WEST PALM BEACH, FL. – Southeastern College (SEC) Director of Surgical Technology Dianne Jasper, CST, MHA, BS, has been honored by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) for her completion of the Galaxy Program. The distinction recognizes surgical program directors who demonstrate dedication and steadfast commitment through the promotion of their student’s future success in the field of Surgical Technology by encouraging national membership and certification.

“I am pleased to receive this recognition from AST, Said Jasper. “At SEC WPB, we strive to ensure our students receive the best surgical technology education and being an active member of AST is a big part of this.”

The Association of Surgical Technologists is the only national organization of surgical technologists in the U.S. The AST’s primary purpose is to ensure that surgical technologists have the knowledge and skills to administer patient care of the highest quality.

Southeastern College strives to ensure all surgical technology students at the school become a part of the AST’s Galaxy Member Program. For SEC students, the benefits of joining include an AST student membership, a Certified Surgical Technologist exam study guide, and the inclusion of exam fees included.

“Students are the future of the profession of Surgical Technology,” said Jasper. Southeastern College values our future practitioners and to that end, we are proud to be a part of the AST Galaxy Program.”
