CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-area healthcare workers at five local medical facilities will benefit from donations of personal protective equipment (PPE) made by Southeastern Institute Charlotte. Nearly 2,500 pieces of protective equipment were contained in the donation which included boxes of facemasks and exam gloves.

“At this time of desperation in the medical industry, we are so grateful for those who are putting themselves on the front line,” said Kris Loretz, campus president at Southeastern Institute Charlotte. “As a hands-on training institution, we have a number of supplies available that our students are not currently utilizing. It was an easy decision to provide what we do have to those who need them right now.”

As hospitals and physicians’ offices across the country respond to the Coronavirus Pandemic, some facilities have reported a shortage in the availability of PPE. Seeing the opportunity to assist, administrators at Southeastern Institute Charlotte reached out partner facilities to assess their need and offer the critical medical equipment.
