TORONTO DECEMBER 10, 2019

Herzing College has officially absorbed the Pre-apprenticeship Training (PAT) Institute, a trades school with campuses in Toronto and Cambridge, Ontario.

Herzing acquired PAT in 2014, and since then, has slowly been integrating the Institute into the Herzing brand.

That process is now complete. The Pre-apprenticeship Training Institute has formally changed its name to Herzing College, and will exist as Herzing’s new division of skilled trades training.

Programs on offer include electrician, carpentry, plumbing, network cabling, HVAC, and gas technician training.

Herzing’s Chief Operations Officer, Frank Cianciaruso, says absorbing PAT will offer Herzing students an even wider variety of training programs and career paths.

“The Pre-apprenticeship Training Institute is one of Ontario’s leading providers of quality trades training. We are very proud to bring PAT under the Herzing College banner, and add these programs to our selection of diplomas and certificates. We want to offer students a wide variety of training pathways, from business to healthcare to technology to the skilled trades. Absorbing PAT gives Herzing students more options than ever before—and that’s a big step toward our goal.”

About Herzing College

Herzing College was founded in 1965, as a school for computer technology training. The college has now expanded into Herzing Institutes of Canada, with campuses in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, and Winnipeg.

Herzing also owns a continuing education division, called Kompass Professional Development, which delivers online certificates in healthcare, human resources, mediation, emergency management, arbitration, and digital marketing.

Herzing College offers a wide range of diplomas in technology, healthcare, education, design, legal studies—and now, the skilled trades.
