Trident University International (Trident) today is announcing the introduction of its new Doctor of Education Degree Completion Program (EDD-DCP). The EDD-DCP starts instruction in the Winter Session on January 13, 2020.

This Degree Completion Program is designed to help students who have made significant progress in an EDD program at another institution. These include students who may have started a dissertation or dissertation-equivalent study, who may have received IRB approval and started collecting data, or students who describe themselves as ABD (“all but dissertation”).

“Trident’s EDD program is intended to prepare educational administrators, academic leaders, and policy makers,” states Dr. Heidi Smith, Dean, College of Education. “Our new EDD Degree Completion Program is another opportunity for us to help prepare this current generation of educational leaders for success.”

New students who wish to enroll in Trident’s EDD-DCP must transfer a minimum of 28 doctoral-level credits, successfully complete 24 credits at Trident, and fulfill all requirements of the Doctoral Study Project.

All applicants to the Degree Completion Program are expected to hold a master’s degree in education or related field from an accredited institution, a minimum 3.0 GPA on all completed master’s and doctoral-level coursework, have at least three years of experience in education or related field, possess communication skills that are sufficient to conduct, analyze, and present the results of scholarly research, and submit an academic writing sample or research proposal.

Enrollment for the EDD-DCP is currently underway. Interested students are encouraged to reach out to Dr. Heidi Smith or one of Trident’s doctoral specialists.
