MINNEAPOLIS–Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, will host its ninth annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in Vadnais Heights, Minn.1 Approximately 500 current and aspiring leaders are expected to attend the two-hour event where they will have the opportunity to connect with local nonprofits and women’s organizations, network with professionals from across the Twin Cities and hear from this year’s keynote speaker, CEO of WomenVenture, Elaine Wyatt. Wyatt will speak to attendees around this year’s theme, “Entrepreneurial Mindset.”

“We are excited to welcome and hear from Elaine Wyatt, a woman driven by her passion to help women and girls realize their full potential,” said Dr. Trenda Boyum-Breen, president of Rasmussen College. “We are eager to learn from such a dynamic speaker whose personal and professional mission is dedicated to serving the traditionally underserved and addressing racial and gender disparities in business.”

Bringing an Entrepreneurial Mindset to Life and Work

As part of its mission, the College believes in the power of strong communities and understands that the health and strength of our communities stem from the critical support and guidance provided by organizations that work to inspire individuals and change lives. Rasmussen College is proud to be an institution where both women and men have been honored as professionals—ever since its doors opened in 1900. To honor this legacy, the Women’s Leadership Breakfast is held annually to support women and deepen attendees’ leadership presence in their lives and work.

Started in 1977, WomenVenture has been dedicated to helping women in the Twin Cities achieve economic success. Named as a Women’s Business Center of Excellence in 2018, WomenVenture is part of a network of nearly 100 educational centers designed to level the playing field for women entrepreneurs who face unique obstacles in the world of business. The organization ensures that critical resources are available to all women entrepreneurs and specifically those who are economically or socially disadvantaged. This year, Rasmussen College will donate $1,000 to the organization to help provide entrepreneurial women with the tools, capital and support to lead businesses that create living wage jobs.
