DALLAS, TX, July 17, 2019 — Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Stephen B. Friedheim with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Friedheim celebrates many years’ experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Mr. Friedheim celebrates an eclectic career, which has spanned more than 60 years, taking him from radio broadcasting in the late 1950s to educational consulting in the present day. After earning both a Bachelor of Arts in theater and radio production, he aligned with Station KBRS as a radio announcer in Springfield, Arkansas, in 1956. He transitioned to news broadcasting the following year, working in Joplin, Missouri, for Station KZRG, formerly known as Station KFSB, until he was called to active duty in the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant. His first assignment was as the Radio-TV Officer for Army Recruiting. In that position he produced and directed a variety of programs including, “Army Bandstand,” “Country Style, USA,” and “The Steve Lawrence Show.” His specially transcribed radio series called, “Topic of Conversation,” were heard nationally on the Mutual Broadcasting Service, and won two Freedom Foundation Awards for “Creating a Better Understanding of the American Way of Life.” Mr. Friedheim left the Armed Forces after four years of service, whereupon he accepted a position as director of public relations for the American Counseling Association from 1961 to 1966.

Leveraging his certification as an association executive (CAE), Mr. Friedheim went on to occupy leadership roles for much of his career, garnering a laudable reputation as executive vice president of the American Society for Medical Technology from 1966 to 1976, president of the Association of Independent Colleges and Schools from 1976 to 1984, and as senior vice president of Campbell Communications, a position he held concurrently with a similar role for King Education Services. He was also president of the ESS College of Business in Dallas, Texas, from 1984 to 2001. Mr. Friedheim founded with his wife, Jan, and remains active with Education Systems & Solutions, Inc., a consultation company that provides institutions of higher learning with curriculum development and accreditation services.

Highly sought after in his field, Mr. Friedheim has lent his expertise to companies such as South-Western Publishing Co., Richard D. Irwin, Inc., Johnson & Wales University, the KD Studio Actors Conservatory, CollegeAmerica, Stevens Henager College, and California College San Diego. He also contributed his time and effort to various organizations, serving on the board of directors of St. Aidan’s School in Virginia from 1979 to 1982, maintaining involvement as a highly placed member of the Workforce Development Board of Dallas County from 1996 to 2001, and acting as vice chairman for Workforce Leadership Texas from 2000 to 201. Over the years, Mr. Friedheim has been a member of numerous pertinent societies, including the American Vocational Association, the Career College Association, and the National Alliance of Business.

He is happily married to his wife, Jan, of 35 years. He has three children. Together, they have welcomed three grandchildren into their family.
