Trident University International (Trident) is proud to present Dr. Pamela A. Wilson with its Teaching Excellence Award for the Winter 2019 quarter. A total of 65 faculty members were nominated by students, with Dr. Wilson being selected as the winner by University leadership based on the strength of the positive feedback submitted by students.

Dr. Wilson has served as a part-time faculty member in Trident’s College of Education since 2009. She works closely with students in the Master of Arts in Education, Doctor of Education, and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership programs.

“Dr. Wilson is an excellent professor! She inspired and supported us in reaching our academic potential by always coaching us to learn and understand applicable concepts, but more importantly, by facilitating our ability to bring those principles into our real-world vocation or dissertation focus,” states Ricky Higby, Doctor of Education (Ed.D) student.

Dr. Wilson’s academic experience includes course development, training, team building, leadership development, mentoring, and personnel evaluations. Her research interests include behavior-driven ideologies, particularly concerning self-efficacy, self-esteem, and motivational behaviors that drive learning.

A 32-year military veteran, Dr. Wilson served in a number of leadership positions over the course of her decorated career. Her efforts led to key improvements in the training and development of leaders and senior-level military spouses.

“Teaching has been my lifelong passion,” remarks Dr. Wilson. “I am grateful that I have the ability to connect with ambitious and curious minds all over the world. I am equally grateful that I learn a lot every day from my students. This is what completes me as an individual.”

Dr. Wilson earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Trident, Master in Public Administration from Troy University, and Bachelor of Science in Recreation from Chicago State University.
