CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Academic programs from Southeastern Institute’s Charlotte campus have been approved by the North Carolina Department of Commerce’s NC Works program. The curriculums are now eligible to enroll students from Charlotte and the surrounding areas.

NCWorks is the official workforce system for the state of North Carolina. The organization better prepares residents for employment through the extensive career services it provides, most offered free of charge. NCWorks is a one-stop online resource for job seekers and employers where job seekers can search for jobs, create resumes, and find education and training. Employers can find candidates, post jobs, and search labor market information.

“Southeastern Institute in Charlotte is proud to partner with NCWorks,” said Robert Keiser, Executive Director of Southeastern Institute. “This new partnership provides North Carolinians with a tremendous opportunity to enter programs and careers that address workforce needs.”

Two Southeastern Institute programs have been fully approved: Pharmacy Technology and Phlebotomy. An additional two programs, Electronic Medical Billing & Coding and Medical Assisting are available for consideration beginning July 1, 2019. Academic information about these programs is available on Southeastern’s Program page.

To offer training through the NCWorks program, training providers such as Southeastern Institute, must receive approval from at least one local Workforce Development Board. Training providers must complete initial or continuing eligibility requirements to be added to or maintain their status on the list.
