The ACEN continues the Associate Degree Nursing Program’s accreditation for good cause.

Nightingale College, a fully-accredited distance institution of higher learning, is pleased to announce continued programmatic accreditation for its Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program. The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) announced continued accreditation of the College’s ADN Program for good cause as of April 26, 2019.

“This accreditation action is a recognition of Nightingale College’s determination to continually improve the ADN program and its outcomes, and equip communities with home grown nurses,” said Jonathan Tanner, Vice President of Partnerships for Nightingale College. “We appreciate the ADN Program’s ongoing partnership with the ACEN.”

The ADN Program has been programmatically accredited through the ACEN since January of 2014. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Nightingale College is programmatically accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The College is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), a national accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Nurses are in high demand, yet schools continue to reject well qualified nursing applicants due to limited program space. Nightingale College accepts all qualified applicants in the next open semester and provides access to nursing education in rural and underserved communities by forming partnerships with local health care providers. To prepare nursing professionals, the College’s innovative Dedicated Distance Cohort (DDC) Model combines online coursework with hands-on experiential learning at partner facilities.

“We are pleased to offer access to higher education, especially in rural areas,” said Blake Halladay, Senior Manager of Partnerships. “Supporting our rural partners is integral to our goal of solving the nursing shortage nationwide.”

In addition to the hybrid-virtual 20-month ADN and 32-month BSN programs, Nightingale College also offers a 12-month post-licensure RN-to-BSN Program that can be completed entirely online.
