Two members of Congress are asking for an investigation into missing federal financial aid funds at Argosy University after The Arizona Republic reported students were struggling to pay bills as they awaited payments.

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., wrote a letter Friday to Sandra D. Bruce, the acting inspector general for the U.S. Department of Education, asking for an investigation.

Durbin and DeLauro want the inspector to look into missing funds at Dream Center Education Holdings, Argosy’s owner, and at the Department of Education’s handling of the Dream Center case “as this debacle continues to unfold almost daily with major implications for students and taxpayers.”
